Welcome to wonderlandweekly.ca!

Hey everyone, Toronto Ty here, virtually welcoming you to the new website! It’s still under construction, but will host all Wonderland Weekly blog entries as well as links to my content on other platforms. Let’s go over a few FAQs.

Why the change?

Making videos every single week has taken a lot of time and energy. I want to celebrate things the park is doing, has done, and might be doing in the future, but if all my time is spent editing videos, I have less time to craft carefully thought out content. I’m still committed to producing something Wonderland or theme park related every week and blog entries are simply a lot quicker and easier.

Will there still be new videos?

Yes, I’ll still post videos to YouTube! Just not every week. I don’t have an exact schedule for how often those videos will come out, but much like AlpenFury’s fire effect, the reduced frequency will make each one more special. No more “filler” episodes on weeks where very little is happening; you can expect each new video to have a real highlight about what’s new at the park!

Bonus: I’ve got plenty of “what if” ideas and news reaction videos I’ve wanted to make over the years, so this new schedule will allow me to produce those and share them in a more timely manner!

What kind of blogs will these be?

I have a lot of ideas, but the bulk of them will be trip reports, essentially replacing videos for those weeks. I plan to have plenty of visuals to accompany the text. I also want to write about the park’s history including memories from former attractions. Sometimes I may write my thoughts on news stories from Canada’s Wonderland or the theme park industry. Other times I may share teases of my predictions or “what if” scenarios as I work on a full video. We’ll find out together as I build the site up!

Will you still visit Wonderland once a week?

I can’t promise that anymore. I’ve already missed more operating weeks this year than any other in the history of my channel. Between work, family, and just life in general, it’s getting harder to find the time to visit Wonderland as often as I used to, and as often as I’d like. Though life may not always allow me to be there for every opening day or announcement, I’m determined to make at least one video from every major event whenever possible.

Is this because of AlpenFury or the merger with Six Flags?

No, I’ve been working on this transition plan for a couple years now. I’ve just been so busy, I haven’t had time to make this announcement. I might not be AlpenFury’s biggest fan and I’ll never get over the fact Wonder Mountain now has that “earring,” but my passion for Wonderland is still very real. (I wouldn’t be so emotional about AlpenFury if I didn’t still care about the park.) Six Flags has been in a rough financial state since the merger and I’m still hoping we see real lasting improvements to the park within the next few years. Time will tell and I’ll be around to share it.

How will I know there’s a new blog entry?

Make sure to follow me on Instagram and/or Facebook where I’ll be posting about each new entry. You can also check in on the website once a week to read the latest posts.

Will there be ads? How can I support you financially?

I have no intention to allow ads on this website, however I will tag any sponsored content (where I receive money, gifts, or special invitations due to my status). If you’d like to support me financially, please consider gifting me hot chocolate at buymeacoffee.com/wonderlandweekly

I think that’s everything, but if you have any other questions, please reach out on Instagram.
