Warm up or cool down with individual temperature control on AlpenFury
Canada’s Wonderland is inviting guests to feel the power of the elements like never before with an enhanced experience for the park’s latest record-breaking roller coaster. Representing the fire and ice theme, both AlpenFury trains have been fitted with new miniature heaters and fans to blow hot or cold air on riders throughout the ride.
“We always aim to fully immerse guests with our rides,” said Heather Hall, park president at Canada’s Wonderland. “This new upgrade will completely change the way riders experience AlpenFury, with two unique sensations depending on their preference.”
When guests take their seat, they will select either “FIRE” or “ICE” via a screen mounted to the back of the seat ahead of them. Depending on their selection, the heaters or fans will turn on, blasting hot or cold air onto the face and legs of each rider.
Non-riders can get in on the fun too, with three sets of larger heaters and fans along the course of the ride. Guests can use nearby kiosks* to operate the heaters and fans, blasting the next three trains with gusts of hot or cold air.
As part of the ride’s upgrade, the roofed portion of the queue has been equipped with a high-power air conditioning unit and the shade structure has been replaced by heat lamps. “We want to extend the fire and ice theming to the queue, letting guests to fully experience the frigid cold of the Alps followed by the burning heat of the sun while they wait to board their sled,” Hall explained.
Canada’s Wonderland opens for the season on May 3rd. Guests can get unlimited access to the upgraded AlpenFury and four seasons of fun with a Gold Pass, on sale now for seven easy payments of $17.85. For more information, please do not contact the park since this is an April Fools’ Day post. Hope you enjoyed!
